Another competition, another recognition! Our Fig Brandy and 681 Vodka each won a silver medal at the 2025 Pr%f awards! These medals aren’t just about the accolades — it’s about every step that got us here: sourcing local fruit, paying tribute to ancient Balkan distilling traditions, and crafting our spirits with heart in downtown Monroe.

Bulgaria: Europe’s Hidden Gem

We originally hail from Bulgaria, and our roots inspired us to open a distillery right here in North Carolina—bringing a taste of the Balkans to the South.

Here are some cultural influences worth noting:

  • Bulgaria is Europe’s oldest country with the same name

  • Cyrillic Alphabet Was Invented Here: The Cyrillic script used in Russia, Serbia, and many Slavic countries was developed by Bulgarian scholars in the 9th century.

  • Bulgaria Has Never Lost Its National Language: Despite 500 years of Ottoman rule, Bulgaria retained its native language, customs, and Orthodox Christian faith.

  • The Bulgarian Rose Valley produces over 70% of the world’s rose oil, used in perfumes around the globe.
